My friend and I came by to see this beautiful sculpture. It was suppose to move, but it was broken at the time I visit. Still it was an impressive art piece.
The location is the only drawback to Metalmorphosis. It sits in a business park and is kind of anticlimactic. On the other hand that location also makes it very easy to get to and get photos without people in th background. It's a nice hidden gem
Very cool! One of the little quirky places to find around Charlotte or even in the central Carolinas. Mesmerizing to just sit and watch - with the sound if the fountain you forget you're in such a large city!
Think of Metalmorphosis as an item to cross off from your “Things to do in Charlotte” checklist.
When we visited, the human head was stationary, and wasn’t rotating at all. There was no plate realignment, and no water pouring out of the human head. Needless to say, it was somewhat of an underwhelming experience. The drab corporate buildings in the background don’t make it any better either. You can park your car nearby and spend some time here if you want.
I’m thinking the Czech sculptor who designed it had envisioned something much grander. A 3/5 experience, I’m guessing there are much better things to do in Queen City.

Such a neat display! We went on a Saturday evening so we had the place to ourselves. Definitely worth a quick detour to see this unique place!
Cool place to visit on a slow evening in Charlotte. Usually there are just a few other people taking pictures of this awesome piece of artwork. Looks like it's placed in front of an office building for engineering consultants. So don't expect much when you go here other than this metallic figure and some well-kept hedges/flowerbeds. It's free, so enjoy it for what its worth.
Beautiful sculpture. We went there on a working day and after office hours. Maybe that's why the statue was not moving. Otherwise if the statue was moving when we were there it would've been an amazing experience for me and my son. They should have placed a notice board or some kind of communication regarding the active/moving time of the statue for visitors like us. Though we saw it on YouTube. But it would've been beautiful to watch in person. Also, I could explain about the moving mechanism to my son, because he is very enthusiastic about robotics and moving mechanisms.
